Ratanak Ou

Mirsaid Yakhyaev

Ratanak Ou is currently the Executive Director of People Health Development Association (PHD) in Cambodia. In 2006, he graduated from the National University of Management, majoring in Business Management, and in 2010 he received a Master’s Degree in International Relations.

Mr. Ou obtained a certificate of great honor as Youth Ambassador for Peace by the Antireligious and International Federation for World Peace. He is a member of the UN Youth Advisory Panel Country Team in Cambodia. In 2009, he participated in the Youth Committees at the Fifth Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights. Mr. Ou was also selected as the youth focal point to develop the Cambodian National Youth Policy and the Government’s National Strategy Plan related to HIV/AIDS, ending violence against women and promoting women’s empowerment.

Furthermore, Mr. Ou has worked with young men and boys, sending positive messages to address masculinity, sexual reproductive health and rights, HIV/AIDS and gender-based issues, with the goal of changing young men’s behavior. Another aspect of his work encompasses encouraging Cambodian youth to participate in creating positive social change.
